Who Runs Wet Return

Wet Return publishes plain explainers on steam and hot-water radiator heat in older US houses, written from makers' manuals and federal pages; it sells no service and sends no one to your house.

What Wet Return is

Wet Return is a small publication about radiator heat: one-pipe and two-pipe steam, hot-water systems, the boilers that feed them, the radiators, and ways to add cooling to a house without ducts. The name comes from steam heating, where the wet return is the pipe that carries condensate back below the boiler's water line.

Each page explains how a part works, what an owner may safely look at, and which jobs belong to a licensed heating technician. Start with radiator heat in old houses or a system folder such as steam heat or hot-water radiator heat.

What it is not

Wet Return is not a heating or cooling contractor. It does not install, repair or service equipment, and it makes no service calls. It is not a utility or a government office, and it speaks for neither.

It has no tie to any business that used this web address before. Pages are about radiator heat, not about any earlier company.

Who owns it

Wet Return is owned by the same people who own four businesses: PlumbingSupplyAndMore, a plumbing, heating and HVAC supply store; Central Plumbing & HVAC, a plumbing and HVAC company in Bucks and Montgomery counties, Pennsylvania; SoftPro Water Systems; and Quality Water Treatment. Some pages link to them, always with a note beside the link. The rules for those links are on partners and ownership.

How pages are checked

Pages are written from boiler, vent and radiator makers' manuals, federal pages such as eCFR, EPA, DOE and the IRS, state energy offices and safety bodies like NFPA. Rules that change, such as tax credits, refrigerant limits and efficiency minimums, carry the month they were read. What a maker says about its own product is labelled as that maker's claim.

Pages are re-read against their sources when rules change, and the date at the top of each page shows when it was last checked.

Terms of use

Everything here is general information, not professional advice for your house. Heating equipment, gas and refrigerant can hurt people when handled wrongly; when a page says a job belongs to a licensed technician, it means it. If unsure, call a licensed heating technician. Reader data is covered on reader privacy.
